Organisers have extended the deadline for accepting entries into the Bacardi National Par 3 Championship this weekend.

Golfers wanting to take part in the tournament have until the close of business today to enter an event that promises to be one of the most open yet.

With leading amateurs Jarryd Dillas, Mark Phillips and Fraser Hunt in Argentina this week for the Latin America Amateur Championship, the open division is expected to be hotly contested with Jevon Roberts, Damian Palanyandi, Ben Hodge and Steven DeCosta among the 31-man field.

In the women’s section Kathy Lloyd-Hines, the defending champion has been ruled out through injury, while Hav Trott will be missing from the senior competition. Daniel Augustus, meanwhile, returns to defend his professional title.

A total of 80 players are expected to play in the tournament which takes place on Saturday and Sunday at Turtle Hill Golf Course.
