Oliveira benefits from reduced field

Claimed win: Oliveira

Matthew Oliveira took full advantage of a reduced field to win the fourth race in the Flying Colours Mountain Bike Race Series.

With Dominique Mayho on duty with Bermuda Regiment, Oliveira raced around the Admiralty House Park course finishing nearly four minutes ahead of his nearest rival in the A Class race.

Robin Horsefield battled with Oliveira for the first six laps, but could not stay with the leader and finished second, with Chequan Richardson placing third.

In the veterans race, Chris Roque earned a rare win, ahead of David Byrne and Peter Dunne.

Mechanical problems deprived Dylan Hill of a probable victory in the B Class race, and Kaden Hopkins edged his rival with Padraic Brown in third.

Despite building a strong lead in the junior females race Kayla Raymond could not hold on and Cassy McPhee pulled ahead for a convincing win. Tristan Narraway was third.
