BSX up as four stocks advance

Four stocks rose last week on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index, lifting the index 7.46 points (0.54%) to close at 1,367.78.

The number of shares traded over the five days was 99,522, representing a total value of $320,830.93.

Recording the largest rise was Bermuda Aviation Services, which improved by 45 cents (17.6 per cent) to $3, after 3,000 shares were exchanged.

Devonshire Holdings improved by 49 cents (10.9 per cent) to close at $4.99, after 1,000 shares were traded.

KeyTech saw its shares improve by five cents (1.4 per cent), closing the week at $3.75 after 3,477 shares changed hands.

The only other price movement was a one cent (0.5 per cent) rise in the value of Butterfield Bank shares after 65,335 were exchanged.

Also traded were 12,904 shares of Argus Group Holdings, 10,000 of Ascendant Group, 3,000 of BF&M, and 800 of Somers Limited, but there was no change to the closing price of those stocks.

The BSX Insurance Index rose 20.97 points (1.40 per cent) to close at 1,519.63.
