Two Bermuda air conditioning salesmen have won international awards.

Air Care staff Marlyn Kelch and Reggie Weeks both won Linc Diamond Awards for hitting more than $2.3 million in sales in a year.

Mr Kelch — a five-time winner in the annual awards — notched up $3.3 million in sales last year, while Mr Kelch is a first time achievement after he sold $2.5 million worth of AC equipment in 2014.

The pair beat off competition from the US, Canada and Mexico to win the awards.

Mr Kelch said: “You have to be in the top five per cent for sales activity by professionals within the Linc network and that is about 800 people. So not many people qualify every year.”

Mr Weeks added: “I’ve come close a few times and this feels like a good achievement. I am still learning but I was still able to meet the award criteria.”

The Linc network is made up more than 170 independently-owned mechanical services contractors and Air Care has been a member for 18 years.

Craig Stevenson, the Pembroke-based firm’s manager for business development and sales, said: “Reggie and Marlyn have worked extremely hard and the sales they have achieved in this economy are quite phenomenal — they deserve this recognition.”
