Police arrested a 31-year-old Devonshire man for suspicion of impaired driving after the Mitsubishi 4x4 he was driving crashed through a wall.

The man was treated for minor injuries at the scene of the single-vehicle crash which took place at the junction of Middle Road and Christ Church Lane at around 6pm last night. Both the wall and vehicle were damaged.

The car apparently hit the wall outside Devonshire Church where the turnaround is in front of the graveyard.

Despite the incident, traffic was flowing smoothly in both directions in the area of the accident.

Inquiries are ongoing and any witnesses that have not already come forward are asked to contact Constable Dionne Lansiquot at the Hamilton Police Station on 247-1704. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
