The kitty is empty: who doesn’t get it?

Cabinet protest: Union members protested last week on the lawn of Cabinet, sitting through the rain, singing, chanting, dancing and playing music

Dear Sir,

So a senior member of the BIU just spent $450 on sandwiches at the MarketPlace – hungry work sunbathing on the grounds of the Cabinet building, I guess.

Do they think that those of us who are trying to hold down jobs in an economy that is struggling can afford to sit off for the day, listen to music and eat sandwiches that someone else is providing?

What a joke.

They look like they are all having a picnic.

I think the union members should be aware that with the recent mergers in the insurance/reinsurance space, there are going to be some very well qualified and capable people looking for jobs – all of whom would be way better at providing an efficient government than the over-paid, over-provided-for, over-fed rabble that is an embarrassment to all thinking Bermudians.

Wouldn’t the rest of us like to be in a job that is guaranteed for life, with a healthy pension and with absolutely no accountability?

Do they not know that most of Bermuda resents them for not being willing to help resurrect our economy?

What does it take for them to understand that the kitty is empty?

It is empty primarily because of the exorbitant cost of the vastly over-staffed and under-performing people who seem to think that Government owes them a living.

Never before have so few had to suffer for so many – with apologies to Winston Churchill.

SEND THEM ALL HOME TO REFLECT ON HOW FORTUNATE THEY REALLY ARE
