A tanker carrying corn oil was forced to divert to Bermuda this week when the vessel developed engine problems.

The MTM Rotterdam was on her way from New Orleans to Tunisia when the crew was forced to make the unexpected stop. The Hong Kong-flagged ship is alongside at Heritage Wharf in Dockyard.

She arrived at the Sea Buoy off St George’s on Monday at 3pm and was escorted into the West End.

The MTM Rotterdam is expected to remain on the Island for the next two or three days while repair work is conducted.
