Treating everyone with respect

Saltus Upper Primary 5S Class Assembly

With Saltus Upper Primary’s 5S class, it’s all about R-E-S-P-E-C-T!

Saltus Upper Primary’s 5S class presented an assembly on “Respect”. Their teacher, Mr Shayne Scott, explained that although this character trait is a familiar one, it was given a new twist by the introduction of Respect Man. Respect Man is a superhero-type figure who goes from town to town, city to city, and playground to playground teaching children about “Respect”. The students presented three skits in which Respect Man saves the day by introducing them to new ways of showing respect. The students learned a great deal from putting together this presentation and enjoyed sharing it with the audience.

As Respect Man says, “Don’t insult, abuse, hurt, put down, or mistreat others; don’t make unwanted comments about a person’s appearance; don’t take advantage of other people; don’t hold back information people need to make decisions; treat everyone with respect by being polite; respect the individuality of others and be accepting of individual differences; and judge people on their merits, not on their race, religion, nationality, age, gender, physical or mental condition. We should treat everyone with R-E-S-P-E-C-T!”
