A fundraiser to help to pay for core counselling services is being held by Family Centre as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations.

The party, Celebrate the Night, will be at Fourways Inn, Paget, on Saturday.

Money raised by the event will go towards counselling, community programmes and advocacy and training services that support children and their families.

“We are very grateful to everyone who has supported Family Centre events for the past 25 years,” said Family Centre’s executive director, Martha Dismont.

“The funding that we raise from our events, particularly Celebrate the Night, supports counselling services for vulnerable children and their families.

“We are looking forward to a great event, with music, dancing, comedy and excellent food. Come and join us for a fun night out, and bring a friend.”

Family Centre’s range of counselling services, community programmes and advocacy and training services support more and more children and families each year.

Demand for their services continues to rise and staff are serving families for longer periods of time and with more intensive family interventions.

The charity is hoping that 500 people will attend Celebrate the Night. DJ King Arthur will provide music, as will the Bones Trio. Also performing will be Gina Love Davis and Toby Butterfield with Improv Bermuda, and Dennis Joaquin and Kendra Earls with their puppetry troupe.

Emilio Barbieri, from the MEF group of restaurants, said: “Fourways Inn is proud to be a sponsor of the Celebrate the Night event to benefit such a great charity.

“During a winter evening, Fourways is warm and inviting and our layout works well for the variety of entertainment planned each year by Family Centre.

“We look forward to a wonderful turnout.”

Tickets cost $60 from Fourways Inn, La Trattoria, BDAtix and Family Centre’s office at Charities House, Point Finger Road.

The event’s sponsors include Mike Collins, Butterfield & Vallis, Bermuda Commercial Bank, Chartwell Industries, BELCO and Cell-One. Supporters are Admiral Management, Select Sites Group, Europa Imports, AIC TOPS, and CableVision.
