A total of 11,400 stocks worth more than $101,000 today traded on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

Shares in financial services holding company Somers Ltd rose 24 cents (1.7 per cent) to $14.49 after 4,200 shares were traded.

Ascendant Group, parent firm of power firm Belco, closed at $5.60 — up 10 cents (1.8 per cent) on the day after 700 shares changed hands.

And 5,000 Bank of Butterfield shares traded, leaving its price unchanged at $2.

Insurance firm BF&M closed the day unchanged at $17.50 after 1,500 shares were sold.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 2.30 points (0.17 per cent) at 1,375.79, while the BSX Insurance Index closed at 1,576.18, 2.24 points (0.14 per cent) up.
