Show your support for budding rugby stars

The U17 rugby team help to clear up the Railway Trail

Keen to support the Island’s budding young sports stars?

The Under-17 rugby squad is trying to raise funds for its tour to the UK by hosting a fish fry on Friday night.

Team Manager, James O’Shaughnessy, said: “The tour is a great opportunity for the boys to play rugby against the best in Europe and also get coached by professionals at the highest level.

“In addition, they will build friendships, have fun and celebrate the life of their mentor and coach, Devrae Noel Simmons.”

The event, at the Ex-Artillery Association on Victoria Street, next to People’s Pharmacy, will be from 5pm to 7pm and tickets cost $15 for a fish dinner and dessert.

The U17 squad is keen to represent the Island and give back to the community — the boys were busy this month helping the Parks Department to clear the Railway Trail on both sides of Store Hill.
