Man denies threatening behaviour

A 52-year-old man accused of threatening a guest worker and a police officer denied the charges when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Gregory Dill, of no fixed abode, allegedly used threatening behaviour towards Christopher Kuchanny by aggressively approaching him with a raised voice and shouting: “Isis is coming. They should do to you what Isis does to people.”

The offences allegedly took place in Par-la-Ville car park, in Pembroke, on February 25.

Mr Dill also denied uttering threatening words towards a police officer on the same date.

He allegedly shouted: “Isis is coming. Watch out, you see what they do out there, you see what they do with them beheadings, it’s coming.

“You watch out. If I see you round the back of town, you and me when you are not in uniform, then we will see.”

Mr Dill denied the charge that on same date he endeavoured to beg in Pembroke — either by insult or by an attempt at intimidation.

Senior Magistrate Juan Wolffe granted $1,000 bail with a like surety on the condition that Mr Dill have no contact with the prosecution witnesses.

A trial date was set for May 19.
