The 40th Bermuda Festival will end on a high note this weekend with performances by Stayin’ Alive, a Bee Gees tribute band.

The Canadian-based band will give concert goers ‘One night of the Bee Gees’, said a Bermuda Festival spokesman.

“The original Bee Gees, who managed to captivate audiences for over five decades, made it almost impossible for those who wished to pay them homage. Luckily, the boys of Stayin’ Alive have accepted the challenge.

“The vocal skills of Tony Mattina, Todd Sharman and Jeff Brewer create a believable reproduction of the sound mystique that was the Bee Gees.”

Performances are scheduled at the Fairmont Southampton on Saturday March 7 and Sunday March 8.

“Audiences should be prepared to dance the night away,” said the spokesman.

“With a song roster including memorable hits like Night Fever, Jive Talkin’, How Deep is your Love? and many more, these performances promise to give audiences a good dose of nostalgia.”

Karen Pollard, Artistic Director for the Festival, remarked: “The 2015 Festival has covered a range of performances from dance, theatre and opera, to musical showcases and a world renowned Cello performance. The Stayin’ Alive band is a great way to inject the Festival with a high-energy, lively performance that gets the audience actively involved. Having a Bee Gees tribute band as our final act is a superb way to bring our 40th Anniversary Festival to a memorable close.”

Although the Saturday, March 7 performance is sold out, the Festival said there may be some returns on the night and there are still tickets available for Sunday, March 8th. Tickets can be purchased at ww.bdatix.com
