Larry Mussenden, the Bermuda Football Association president, has urged the public to rally around the national team who face Grenada at the National Sports Centre tonight.

“The Bermuda public should get behind the team because these players have worked very hard and I think everyone in Bermuda can be proud of them,” Mussenden said.

“I have been to some of the training sessions and we have an enthusiastic group of locally based players who have been putting the effort in.”

The Bermuda squad has been chosen with a view to the future with the majority of the players under the age of 25.

“I think they [the players] come from a good cross section of our clubs so no matter where you live or what club you support we will probably have somebody on the team they can be proud of as they would be proud of the whole Bermuda team,” Mussenden said.

“I think this is an exciting time for football in Bermuda.”
