Marine police aid ill man on Hinson’s Island

A 40-year-old man suffering with breathing difficulties was rushed off Hinson’s Island on Saturday to be taken to hospital.

Marine police responded to the 911 call at about 10.30am and picked up the man at 11.10am.

He was then taken to Darrell’s Wharf to a waiting ambulance and rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

A spokesman for Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre said: “On Saturday at 10.32am, a 911 call was received from a member of the public at Hinson’s Island requesting Marine Police attendance at the island to transport a 40-year-old male suffering from breathing difficulty to the main island.

“Heron 2 was tasked to attend and by 11.10am the casualty had been transferred to an ambulance at Darrell’s Wharf for onward transfer to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.”
