Argus gains ground

A total of 101,513 shares worth $216,896 traded on the Bermuda Stock Exchange last week.

Shares in the Bank of Butterfield dropped one cent (0.5 per cent) to $1.99 after 96,713 shares changed hands.

Insurance company Argus Group ended the week 10 cents (2.9 per cent) up at $3.60 after 1,300 shares were exchanged.

Ascendant Group, the parent company of power firm Belco, remained unchanged at $5.60 after 3,500 shares traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed down 2.92 points (0.21 per cent) for the five days of trading at 1,372.18.

The BSX Insurance Index closed the week at 1,547.48, up 6.32 points (0.41 per cent).
