Under beautiful sunny skies Warwick Academy’s senior school held their sports day last Thursday.

Students were decked out in all their supporting house colours and the cheering of their team-mates was deafening at times.

The air was filled with the smell of sun lotion and food being cooked in the PTA lunch wagon. The voice of sports day was Mr Fields, who kept everyone entertained. Robertson house walked away with overall honours, which thrilled Ms Bonnett, head of Robertson, no end.

The level of competition was extremely high as some of the Island’s top athletes were on the field that day. Individual champions were awarded to both boys and girls in different age groups, with almost all categories having two winners.

Under-13 girls had a tie between Holly Bruton and Sanzia Pearman, while the Under-13 boys also had a tie between Tyrese Caines and Nicholas Pilgrim.

Pilgrim then flew off to Florida where he took part in the Clermont Youth Triathlon Challenge in Florida.

The Under-15 girls had another tie between Mikayla Wilson and Emma Harvey, while the Under-15 boys had two winners also between Sean Tucker and Rye Ahronson.

In the Over-15 girls, there was another tie between Sabriya Harvey and Maha Clarke. The Over-15 boys had a lone champion, Carifta Games qualifier David Darrell.
