Shares worth a total of almost $500,000 were traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index last week, with the exchange ending down 9.14 points (0.67 per cent) at 1,363.04.

HSBC Holdings were down 85 cents (9.34 per cent) at $8.25 after 1,314 shares were traded, and Somers Limited’s stock fell 74 cents (5.1 per cent) to close at $13.75 after 100 changed hands.

Butterfield Bank saw 178,312 of its shares traded, closing down one cent (0.5 per cent) at $1.98.

Also trading on the exchange were 18,500 shares of Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd, which closed unchanged at $7.50.

The BSX Insurance Index rose 7.97 points (0.52 per cent) to end the week at 1,536.56.
