Star award for Island lawyer

Narinder Hargun

A Bermuda lawyer has been given a star award by a leading legal publication.

Narinder Hargun, head of dispute resolution at Conyers Dill & Pearman (CDP), was ranked as a star individual — by Chambers Global Guide, a top research tool for lawyers.

Mr Hargun was the only Bermuda lawyer to achieve a star rating and his practice group also achieved Band 1 status.

CDP was ranked Band 1 in the offshore global category and also Band 1 for corporate and finance work, the only Island firm to achieve that rating.

And a total of 17 lawyers in the practice were singled out for mention, the highest number of any firm in Bermuda.

Mr Hargun, also a director and co-chairman of the firm, said: “This year’s rankings are a standout achievement for the firm.

“We thank all of our lawyers for their continued efforts throughout the year in demonstrating such impeccable levels of service and expertise.”

The private client practice also notched up an award — Band 1 rating for the area’s Alec Anderson, the only offshore lawyer to achieve the distinction.

CDP partner and co-chairman David Lamb said: “Retaining consistent rankings year-over-year is a direct reflection of the first-class standards within the firm.

“We extend our gratitude to Chambers & Partners for their efforts in collecting the data and our clients for their participation.”
