A drug recovery specialist is to visit the Island to share her own personal story of experience, strength and hope as part of Pathways Bermuda’s Fifth Annual Award of Excellence.

Keynote speaker Kim Rubenstein serves on the Regional Advisory Board and National Alumni Leadership Council of Caron Treatment Centre in Pennsylvania, United States.

In response to her own family’s journey into recovery she helped create Be A Part of the Conversation – a non-profit organisation that creates dialogues about drug and alcohol abuse and its impact on young people.

Addiction treatment provider Pathways Bermuda (formerly Caron Bermuda) will honour the Bank of Bermuda Foundation at the awards ceremony to be held at the Fairmont Southampton Resort on April 9.

Since it was established in 1989, the Bank of Bermuda Foundation has donated more than $70 million. It has partnered with and underwritten the programmes, projects and services of numerous charities in Bermuda, including Pathways Bermuda.

Proceeds from the fundraising event will go towards the ongoing development of Pathways’ Adolescent and Family programming and Scholarship fund, providing financial aid to assist those who require critical overseas residential treatment.

The organisation is inviting companies to buy tables for the event and is also offering a unique sponsorship opportunity to enable organisations that have benefited from the Foundation’s support to be a part of the evening.

In addition to, or instead of, buying a table for staff members, companies are invited to purchase a table for representatives of select local charities in order for them to attend the gala dinner.
