We need only one word to sum up The Second Last Supper — and that is stupendous.

The play, written by Dale Butler and directed by Rotimi Martins, had its frighteningly powerful segments and can only be regarded as having been inspired by God.

The varied cast flawlessly preached, sang and danced before a capacity audience at St Paul AME Church Hall.

It was powerful and had to be seen for the real spiritual impact — the next time we see Dale or Rotimi we will double check with them to see if they have actually had some sort of transfiguration.

We have seen, from time to time, pictures of Christ and his 12 disciples at the Last Supper. We know of how Judas sold out Christ.

But The Second Last Supper is full of suspense and, I repeat, has to be seen for the real spiritual impact.

This production included a masterpiece band directed by Dennis Fox and a range of dancers — Bermuda Africa Dance, the Dragon Girls and Bermuda, Thai, Nepalese, Philippine and Indonesian dancers.

The diverse cast included Paul Harney, Marq Philip Rodriguez, John Dale, Jermaine Jeffers, Canterbury Richardson, Derek Tully, Jim Brier, Jonathan Rogers, Rotimi Martins, Duvon Powell and William Darrell.

Singers included Toni Robinson, Veronica “Lolly” Darrell, Ana Balatbat and Malcolm Butterfield.

The distinguished patron was Reverend Nicholas Tweed.
