The Bermuda Police Service have confirmed the death of 16-year-old Arai Joell-Johnston, of Paget, as a result of last night’s crash on Harbour Road.

Arai was seriously injured when the auxiliary cycle he was riding collided with a car at about 11.10pm, 50 yards west of the junction with Chapel Road.

He was subsequently pronounced dead at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital at 11.52pm.

A family liaison officer has been assigned to the family to assist them at this difficult time and a full investigation into this fatal collision is continuing.

The investigating officer, Constable David Ward, is urging any witnesses to this fatal collision that have not already come forward to contact him at the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1230 or via e-mail at Dward@bps.bm.

The death of Arai Joell-Johnston marks the third road fatality for 2015.
