Butterfield Bank shares advanced 1 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading in a holiday-shortened week.

The bank gained two cents on the trading of 226,313 shares to close on $1.99.

The only other stock to trade during the four-day week, with the exchange closed for the Good Friday holiday, was KeyTech Ltd. The telecommunications group remained unchanged on $3 as 17 of its shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index climbed 9.44 points, or 0.69 per cent, to close the week on 1,351.1. Trading volume totalled 226,333 shares, while turnover was $446,760.08.
