Argus shares gain 10.8%

Four domestic-board companies climbed on a busy day of trading on the Bermuda Stock Exchange today.

Argus Group Holdings Ltd soared by more than 10 per cent, while LOM Holdings Ltd was the other big climber, adding more than 7 per cent.

Butterfield Bank was the only stock to fall, dipping 2 cents, or 1 per cent, to close on $1.97 as 9,540 shares changed hands.

Argus rocketed 39 cents, or 10.8 per cent, to $3.99 as 2,000 shares traded. Fellow insurer BF&M Ltd also gained, adding 20 cents, or 1.1 per cent, to close on $17.70, as 1,100 shares were exchanged.

LOM hit a new 52-week high of $2.25 with a 15-cent, or 7.1 per cent, gain as 1,000 of the broker-dealer’s shares traded.

Ascendant Group Ltd, parent company of electricity firm Belco, gained 20 cents, or 3.8 per cent, on the trading of 9,100 shares.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index climbed 1.5 points, or 0.11 per cent, to close on 1,352.61.

Trading volume topped 36,000 shares, while turnover exceeded $208,000.
