Twelve Bermudians have been hired by Coral Beach and Tennis Club through a jobs fair they held last month.

Numerous positions were filled — from part-time to full-time and seasonal roles, including room attendants, front-desk staff, a bellman and a groundsperson.

“We really hope to retain these individuals for the future,” said general manager Nik Bhola.

“I hope that from this particular job fair that we have filled the requirements and hopefully we won’t need to hire so many open positions in the future.”

The South Shore club held its first job fair on March 25, with the aim of filling 30 positions.

“We had 350 applicants on the day, which was a fantastic response,” Mr Bhola said. “We have gone through a rigorous application process.

“We conducted a series of second interviews over the last week to ten days and from that we selected an initial 12 candidates that we made offers to. They started today.”

The club hopes to make offers to several more candidates in the coming weeks.
