Woman, 24, denies dishonesty offence

A Hamilton Parish woman denied using a false HSBC cheque to dishonestly obtain money when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Kevina Caesar, 24, pleaded not guilty to making a false instrument, namely a HSBC cheque to the value of $550, with the intention of inducing the bank teller to accept it as genuine in Hamilton Parish on March 3. She also denied using the cheque and dishonestly obtaining $550, with the intention of permanently depriving Mr F Jacobs, Mrs O Jacobs and Mrs G Tucker in Pembroke on March 4.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted $3,000 bail and set a trial date for July 17.
