Motorists have been urged to avoid South Road near the junction with Church Road in Southampton this evening.

“Motorists are advised that traffic diversions are currently in effect and delays should be expected on South Road in Southampton near the junction with Church Road after a tractor trailer apparently pulled down power lines in the area,” a police spokesman said. “Therefore it is recommended that the motoring public avoid the South Road, Church Road, Southampton, vicinity until further notice.”
