The Royal Gazette’s sailing correspondent was fined $400 in Magistrates’ Court this morning for speeding.

Colin Thompson, 45, of Devonshire, pleaded guilty to speeding at 75km/h (about 47mph) on North Shore Road, Hamilton Parish, in September 2011. Thompson was advised that he was subject to an apprehension warrant after he was caught failing to come to a complete halt at a stop sign last night.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo fined him $400 and added six demerit points to his licence.
