Man jailed after bullet threat charge

A Sandys man has been jailed pending trial for uttering graphic threats to a police officer and spitting in a bus driver’s face.

Steveon Swan-Richardson, 22, of Loyalty Estate, denied making the threat on March 17 in Sandys.

He was accused of telling the officer: “I know who you are now — don’t come Somerset; I have a bullet for you” as well as “Next time I see you up Arnold’s, I’m going to buy you a beer and then put a bullet in your head.”

Mr Swan-Richardson denied spitting at bus operator Michael Simmons on the same date and obstructing him from doing his job.

He was also charged with stealing a $4.99 curry chicken pie from MarketPlace supermarkets on December 14 last year.

“You might as well remand me,” Mr Swan-Richardson told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo after he was offered bail of $5,000 with a like surety. His trial was set for June 12.
