Men’s day prayer breakfast at St Philip AME

Today

St Philip AME Church will have its annual men’s day prayer breakfast at the church at 8am. Rev Nicholas Tweed will be the special preacher. The cost is $20.

The First Church of God Angle Street will start their pre-women’s day activities with a SWEET service at 10am. The special speaker will be Deaconess Claudette Smith. Activities will continue through to next Sunday, April 26.

Tomorrow

Mt Zion AME will host its men’s day worship experience at 10am and 3.30pm. The theme of this year’s event is Men Seeking Greater! The guest preacher will be Rev Terence Gray (Pastor of St Mark AME Church in Orlando, Florida).

Thursday (April 23)

St Philip AME Church will host a men’s day revival. Rev Lorne Bean will be speaking; there will also be a performance from the Richard Allen AME Church choir. For more information call 293-0882.

Allen Temple’s senior choir presents a Night of Spirituals Concert at 7.30pm. The cost is $25; for more information telephone 234-0433.

Friday (April 24)

The First Church of God Angle Street pre-women’s day service at 7pm. The speaker will be church pastor Madeline Hayward.

Saturday (April 25)

Bermuda Cathedral of the Holy Trinity will host a prayer breakfast in their Cathedral Hall on Church Street at 9am. Tickets are $25. Part proceeds will go to St James Church’s restoration efforts. Tickets are available from guild members or by calling 333-5069.

The First Church of God Angle Street’s prayer breakfast will take place at Astwood Hall, Church Street, Hamilton at 8.30am. The special guest speaker will be Pastor Joy Morgan from Restoration Station, Edgewater, New Jersey. Tickets, $25, are available by phoning 293-0438, 238-2989 or the church office at 292-2300.

Next Sunday (April 26)

The First Church of God Angle Street will have its final women’s day services at 11am and 4.30pm. The guest speaker will be Pastor Joy Morgan, of Restoration Station, Edgewater, New Jersey.

St Philip AME Church will celebrate men’s day with two special services. The first at 11am will feature Bishop of Bermuda, Rev Nicholas Dill; at 4pm the speaker will be Rev Terry Hassell. The Heard Chapel AME Choir will also perform at the afternoon service.

The theme is Men, Being Kept By the Lord based on a passage of scripture found in 1 Thessalonians 5:12-25.

Sunday, May 3

The Guild of St Monica’s Mission Church will celebrate its 106th anniversary at St Monica’s Church at 3pm. The guest speaker will be Rev Terry Hassell of Heard Chapel AME Church.

St James Church in Sandys will be the locale for the next production of stage musical We are Climbin’ Jacob’s Ladder. The show, which has been given rave reviews in the past, features an all-star cast and live band. It’s described as an exciting motivational and spiritual play. Tickets are $25 or $50 for patrons and are available from church members, Caesar’s Pharmacy and Music Box.

Saturday, May 16

Allen Temple Missionaries will host a 10K walk starting at 7.30am. It will be followed by a health fair. Registration for the walk is $20. For more information telephone 234-0433.

Saint Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (the pink church on the corner of Church and Court Streets) will have its Prayer Group, in the sanctuary from 12:45pm to 1:15pm. The group will meet on the first and third Monday of each month. They will be praying for individuals in the community, the world and the Island. It will be led by Elder Mary Brier.
