Man, 58, arrested after Smith’s stabbing

A 54-year-old man was rushed to hospital this morning with multiple stab wounds after an altercation outside a Smith’s property.

Police were called to the Cloverdale Road residence, adjacent to the Collector’s Hill Apothecary, at 10.30am after a report of a stabbing.

The altercation is believed to have taken place outside the property and resulted in one male being taken to hospital.

A 58-year-old male was arrested at the scene and is being taken into police custody.

The victim is still at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital being treated for a serious arm injury and injuries to his lower extremities.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have any information regarding this incident to contact the main police telephone number at 295-0011.
