Power Boat season is delayed

The start of the 2015 Bermuda Power Boat Association season has been pushed back to next month.

The association had originally planned to get the season under way last weekend with the Dockyard Grand Prix that was to feature as many as five classes, but the event was postponed due to a low turnout.

Race organisers had hope to stage the event during tomorrow’s alternate date, but once again the event has been hit by a low number of entries and cancelled altogether.

The next event on the season schedule is the National Points races to be held in Hamilton Harbour on May 3.

Organisers had originally planned to stage ten races over six months that will be held at various venues.

All races will start at 1pm with the exception of August’s Round the Island Race which gets under way at 2pm.

One of the classes returning this year is the one-design Batboats.
