BSX ends the week lower

Three stocks advanced and four declined on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index last week.

The Index ended the week at 1,352.06, down 2.58 points (0.19 per cent).

Shares of Bermuda Press (Holdings) went up 50 cents (7.1 per cent) to close at $7.50 after 100 were traded. Also rising were shares of BF&M, which improved by 25 cents (1.4 per cent) to close at $18.00 after 5,000 changed hands.

Shares of Somers Limited improved by 25 cents (1.8 per cent) to close at $14.00 after 100 were traded.

Butterfield Bank’s Preference Shares slipped $5 (0.4 per cent) to close at $1,135.00 after five shares traded.

Argus Group shares fell 9 cents (2.3 per cent) to $3.90 after 100 were sold.

In the utilities sector, shares of KeyTech slipped 14 cents (4.7 per cent) to $2.86 after 17,300 were exchanged, and Ascendant Group’s stock fell 35 cents (6.5 per cent) to $5.05 after 1,183 shares were traded.

The total value of shares traded on the Index last week was $416,318.78.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the week at 1,575.63, up 1.30 points (0.08 per cent).
