Smaller vehicles will help to cut crashes

Dear Sir,

There is only one solution to the deaths on Bermuda roads. Government needs to stop the importation of large powerful vehicles to the Island.

If your vehicle cannot stay in its lane while driving on Harbour Road, then it is too big for our roads.

When we had smaller, less powerful vehicles, if you got hit by a car, the most you would have suffered were broken limbs. If you had an accident on your bike you might get road rash and broken limbs but never death.

Telling people to stop speeding or drink-driving is not going to work when they have all this power and it makes them feel safe to drive dangerously.

We have to start thinking about our wants and needs. Would I give up a powerful vehicle if it would save a life? We all have to be part of the solution.

Slo-mo, Pembroke
