Man charged with unlawful wounding

A 58-year-old man was remanded into custody this morning after being charged with unlawful wounding and stalking.

Denis Davis, of no fixed abode, was charged in Magistrates’ Court with wounding a man with the intention of causing him grievous bodily harm and possessing a black-handled knife with a five inch blade in Devonshire on April 23.

The court heard that the victim sustained injuries to his right arm, left upper thigh and stomach area and required hospital treatment.

Mr Davis was also charged with stalking a woman between January 1, 2014, and April 23 this year.

He was not required to enter a plea because the charges are indictable and must be heard in Supreme Court.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo remanded Mr Davis into custody and set a mention date for May 11.
