Bermuda’s own brand of shorts has got in touch with its feminine side.

For TABS — The Authentic Bermuda Shorts — has launched a new range of women’s shorts to complement the existing range for men.

TABS chief Rebecca Hanson said: “My research told me that women were looking for a short that was either just above the knee or mid-thigh.

“They wanted something for work, but also for golf and to wear on the weekends.

“So I have created a short that women can role up or down, a short they can wear their way.”

The shorts are cut with a woman’s shape in mind, with a flattering straight leg fit, a medium low-rise waist and sit just above the knee.

And to underline the summer feel, the range of five Bermuda-inspired colours are all lined with a bright tropical print.

The ladies’ range is made from 97 per cent cotton, specially selected for its breathability and smartness, and three per cent spandex for a curve-hugging fit and ease of movement.

Ms Hanson said they were designed so women can wear them to work with heels and a shirt, but can also be dressed down with a T-shirt.

They are available in white, green, pink, coral and blue.

Mr Hanson added: “There are four things that make TABS different from other Bermuda shorts in that market — fit, fabric, style and, most importantly, they are designed in and inspired by Bermuda.”

She added: “A structured short is definitely more flattering and all women need a pair of classic and beautifully tailored shorts in their wardrobe.”
