A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab wounds on Saturday evening after an altercation in Sandys.

“Around 6pm on Saturday, first responders were dispatched to a reported disturbance outside Woody’s Sports Bar in Sandys parish,” a police spokesman said.

“It appears that an altercation took place outside the premises where one man was stabbed.”

The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment for injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening. He is recovering on a general ward.

Inquiries into this incident are continuing and detectives are appealing for any witnesses to contact the Criminal Investigation Department on the main police telephone number at 295-0011.
