Pembroke assault sends man to hospital

A man was taken to hospital today after he was reportedly stabbed in the Marsh Folly Road-Palmetto Road area of Pembroke.

The incident happened shortly before 2.30pm.

A police spokesperson said it appeared that four males brandishing a bladed article and a piece of wood attacked a male employee of Works and Engineering, who was working on location.

The male victim defended himself, resulting in one of the four attackers receiving serious head injuries. The other three fled the scene before Police arrived.

The injured man was taken to Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact the Central Criminal Investigation Unit on telephone number 247-1744 or the main police telephone number at 295-0011.
