LinkBermuda is to upgrade its high-performance internet service, Quantum Local Access Network, using the latest router technology from Cisco.

When the Cisco ASR 9000 series routers are installed it will provide more capacity and enable the Quantum network to scale more easily to meet growing demand from customers, the company said.

LinkBermuda also expects the new routers to optimise performance and efficiency and reduce operational complexity. The upgrade is to be undertaken over a three-week period, beginning today.

“LinkBermuda has an ongoing commitment to reinvest in key platforms supporting our customers. The upgrade of our Quantum Local Access Network will enhance its resiliency, reliability and stability,” said Craig Davis, general manager of LinkBermuda.

“It will also further strengthen our ability to provide new and enhanced services such as higher speed internet, Layer 3 and Cloud-based offerings. This will better position Quantum’s network for the future and for the services being demanded by our customers.”
