Hav Trott has a two-shot lead over defending champion Arthur Jones going into the final round of the Bermuda Senior Championships at Riddell’s Bay today.

Trott, who is eight-over-par for the tournament, shot a five-over 75 in yesterday’s second round, with Jones posting a 77 after the pair both shot 73 on the opening day.

Jones had back-to-back birdies at 10 and 11 but it was not enough to mitigate the triple-bogey he picked up at the par-4 8th.

That, coupled with four bogeys in his opening six holes put Jones some distance behind Trott, and while the birdies limited the damage, bogeys at 12 and 16 have left the defending champion on the back foot.

Trott, meanwhile, had six bogeys and a solitary birdie in his round, where most of the damage was done with a run of three consecutive birdies from 15. Trott also bogeyed 1, 9 and 11, getting a shot back at the easy par-4 12.

The pair will tee off together at 10am, alongside Tony Ravenda, who is third at 15 over. In the women’s championship, Katrin Burnie is cruising towards the title and will take a mammoth 15 shot lead into today’s final round after a 9 over 79.

Burnie is 17 over for the tournament, with Ann Symonds her nearest challenger at 32 over.
