The visibility of the annual Sinclair Packwood Memorial Race will increase this month with Highland Spring coming on board as a sponsor to help provide prize money and live radio coverage on Power 95 during the May 25 race from St George’s to Bernard Park.

Radio coverage will include a pre-race show at 8.15am followed by race coverage from the start of the race at 8.50am. ZBM will air a highlights television show from video coverage captured by digital cameras mounted on the bikes of various competitors.

Peter Dunne, the president of the Bermuda Bicycle Association, thanked Jim Butterfield and Butterfield & Vallis for their commitment to the race and cycling in Bermuda.

“With Highland Spring on board we are able to increase the visibility of this event on the day and create a comprehensive television programme which will allow the Bermuda fans to gain a new perspective on the excitement of cycle racing,” Dunne said.

This year’s race will start in St George’s for the first time and follow the same route as the Appleby Bermuda Half Marathon other than avoiding Lane Hill by continuing on to Reid Street. The riders will then turn left on Court Street and right on Front Street where it continues along the traditional route, before ending on Cedar Avenue.
