The Bank of Butterfield was up 24 cents (14.5 per cent) at $1.89 after 8,400 shares traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX.

A total of 22 Bank of Butterfield preference shares also sold, leaving the price unchanged at $1,135.

The Royal Gazette/BSX closed 107.5 points (9.01 per cent) up at 1,300.81.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day down 3.37 points (0.21 per cent) at 1,589.57.
