Bank of Butterfield cash machines went down today after a glitch in the system.

Additionally, some point-of-sale machines in stores were also unable to process Butterfield cards.

A spokesman for the bank confirmed: “We had a brief outage this afternoon.”

But he added that service — which had been disrupted for just under an hour — had been restored by 3.20pm.
