A massive share transaction in insurance firm BF&M was the main contributor to $3.1 million of business on The Royal Gazette/BSX.

A total of 176,864 shares changed hands, with BF&M ending the day one cent down (0.01 per cent) at $17.25.

Telecoms firm KeyTech saw 18,200 of its shares move, leaving its price unchanged at $2.75.

And the Bank of Butterfield closed 24 cents down (12.7 per cent) at $1.65 after 3,100 of its shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX ended the day down 107.58 points (8.27 per cent) at 1,193.23.

The BSX Insurance Index was down 17.36 points (1.09 per cent) at 1,572.21.
