The Bermuda Football Association will move into its new headquarters at the Clyde Best Centre of Excellence at BFA Field on Monday.

Named in honour of Bermuda’s former West Ham United striker, the $1.3 million facility, a two-storey complex, features a meeting space on the upper level and changing rooms, referee room, public bathrooms, a training and treatment room as well as storage on the lower field level.

Plans for the multi-purpose complex were first submitted in September 2010 and later slightly modified. In July 2012, the Bermuda Government granted a 50-year lease of 0.71 acres of land at Prospect to the BFA for the complex.

Work started on the 4,000 square-foot building 12 months ago. Funding for the field and building was provided by the Fifa Goal Project.

Yesterday, the BFA closed its offices on Cedar Avenue, where it has been based since 2001.

Nathan Atcheson, the BFA director of marketing and communications, said: “We are excited about this progress. This brings us a step closer to our goal of completing the lower level as quickly as possible for the benefits of the players, coaches, and fans who will be able to utilise the entire complex.”

n Tickets are on sale for Bermuda’s matches against Puerto Rico, an international friendly, and Guatemala, a World Cup qualifying second-round match, with the BFA offering a two-match special for adult tickets.

Those planning to watch both matches can purchase the two tickets at a cost of $40, a $10 savings.

The BFA are also offering group-rate tickets for the June 15 home second-leg game against Guatemala, with those purchasing five or more tickets able to get them at a price of $20 each.

Regular prices are $30 for adults and $15 for children and seniors.

Bermuda take on Puerto Rico next Friday at the National Stadium, National Sports Centre.

Tickets cost $20 for adults and $15 for children and seniors. Both matches start at 7.30pm and parking tickets for the matches will cost $10 each.

Tickets can be purchased at the new BFA office or through www.ptix.bm.
