Man denies privacy charge

A Warwick man accused of intruding on the privacy of a woman was given bail in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The 33-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that he committed the offence in Pembroke last Friday.

The defendant also denied the alternative charge of committing sexual assault on the woman.

Neither the defendant nor the complainant can be named for legal reasons.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted $5,000 bail on the condition that the defendant have no contact with the complainant.

The defendant elected to be tried in Magistrates’ Court and the matter was adjourned to June 24 for mention.
