Butterfield at 52-week low

Butterfield Bank tumbled nearly 6 per cent to lead local stocks lower last week.

Shares of the bank slid to $1.60, a 52-week low, as 46,300 shares changed hands in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

The only other domestic-board issuer to trade was West Hamilton Holdings Ltd, which remained on $5.05 as 100 shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 44.79 points, or 3.81 per cent, to close the week at 1,174.5.

Trading volume was 47,405 shares and turnover topped $85,000.

The BSX was closed yesterday for the National Heroes Day holiday.
