A new beauty and massage centre has opened for business.

Essentials@The Club — in the former Bersalon beauty salon — specialises in Thai treatments, some based on ancient techniques from the East.

The new venture is the brainchild of Gordon Gibbons and Thailand-born wife Pikul.

Ms Gibbons said: “I’m a masseuse and we had the opportunity to take over an existing business, so we did.”

The beauty and massage salon, at Cataract Hill West, Paget, opened its doors in May, with four staff, all Thai, but with international backgrounds in the beauty business spanning Russia and South Africa, as well as Thailand.

Mr Gibbons said: “It’s massage and beauty, from facials to nails, pedicures and manicures. Essentials also offers waxing and other beauty treatments.”

Skin care treatments at Essentials include Nature & More herbal products, while Thai oil massages use rice germ oil, which is high in skin-nourishing vitamin E and antioxidants.

Body wraps and scrubs as well as cellulite and slimming treatments are also available.

Ms Gibbons said: “All the staff are originally from Thailand and experienced in a huge range of massage and beauty treatments.”

Essentials@The Club is open daily from 9am to 7pm.
