PLP plan Packwood Home clean-up

The Progressive Labour Party is planning a community clean-up day this Saturday at the Packwood Home in Sandys.

MPs Michael Scott, Dennis Lister, Kim Wilson and Jamahl Simmons are set to be joined by a team of volunteers from the party to help clean up the historic grounds.

Mr Lister, who represents Sandys North Central, said in a statement: “It has been said that one can tell a lot about a country by the way it treats its youth and its seniors.

“For our annual community clean-up we wanted to give back to our seniors in a meaningful way to thank them for all that they have given to Bermuda. The Packwood Home, their management and staff do an outstanding job of caring for our seniors and we wanted to contribute in making their jobs easier and the lives of our seniors at that facility even better.”

Sandys South MP Jamahl Simmons added that he was happy to see the Packwood Home selected for the clean-up, saying: “Alongside Somerset Bridge and Fort Scaur, Packwood Home is an important part of Sandys South and we welcome the opportunity to come together and give back to our seniors.”

Volunteers are invited to attend the clean-up starting at 7am in advance of an 8am start.
