Argus and Butterfield drive BSX higher

Argus Group Holdings Ltd and Butterfield Bank each climbed strongly last week in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

Their moves, offset by a plunge in KeyTech Ltd shares, drove The Royal Gazette/BSX Index 25.09 points higher, a gain of more than 2 per cent.

Insurer Argus was the biggest climber, surging 29 cents, or 7.8 per cent, to close the week on $3.99, as 2,700 shares changed hands.

Butterfield gained five cents, or 3 per cent, to close on $1.70, on the trading of 64,545 shares.

Ascendant Group Ltd, owner of electricity utility Belco, bounced off its 52-week low, gaining five cents, or 1 per cent, to hit $5.05, as 4,400 shares were exchanged.

Shares of telecommunications group KeyTech Ltd, tumbled 26 cents, or 9.4 per cent, as 29,100 shares changed hands last week.

Volume for the five days of trading totalled 100,745 shares, while turnover was $218,615.
